Memorial Day Weekend

Well this is the first Memorial Day weekend that I can remember that we actually had some nice weather. Just got back from a nice walk around the East Side. Took a couple pics that are posted on the other blog. Above is a picture looking out my back porch before I went on my walk. I hope everyone else is as lucky weather-wise as Milwaukee is today!

Great Weekend

What a nice weekend. FINALLY a couple of days in a row with nice weather. Looks like it'll continue this week too. Friday night on the way home from work I was craving some sushi so I stopped at Pick N Save and gave their sushi a shot. I always take a look at it when I'm there so I figured "what the heck." For $5.25 It was great! I'll definitely pick that up more often.

Saturday Kirsten and I walked around the East Side and vistied a friend to check out the rooftop of his apartment building. Very nice to hang out there and has a great view of the city and the lake. Saturday night I had a work party so we went to that. It was a lot of fun. Free food and beer and a band, lots of fun.

Sunday the weather was great...80's finally. We went down to the Lake for most of the day and then went bumming around last night including a stop at Buffalo Wild Wings. Yumm. Little did we know, that yesterday was WWE: Judgement Day on Pay-Per-View so we were surrounded with wrestling fanatics while we went to town on our wings. Oh well. Here's to hoping the weather continues through the week....have a good one!

Bump...Set...Spike!

A group of us here at work joined a volleyball league at a local establishment and we play Wednesday nights. It's a lot of fun even though we are, how shall I put it, not playing up to our potential. We got crushed last night 0-3 by a team who I think was playing down a level (we are in the "C" league). All in good fun though. Although my competitive side reared its ugly head a couple times. We made up for our 0-3 thrashing by knocking down many pitchers or Lite. If we can't win the volleyball portion of the league, we're going to do our best with the Pitcher Race portion of it. The team that drinks the most pitchers during the season gets a free half-barrel party or something at the end. The weather was still a little chilly last night but most of us did play in bare feet for the first time this season (last night was Week 5). Looking forward to next week and hopefully playing a team a little more our speed...

Weekends need to be longer

Happy Sunday. Weekends just go by faster and faster. Pretty low key weekend. Last night Kirsten and I went over to our friends Emmett & Julie's house. Emmett fired up the grill and cooked up some delicious salmon on cedar planks. Very tasty. After that we had a few cocktails and watched "Meet the Fockers." Pretty funny movie. Not as good as the first, but definitely funny. As much as I don't like Barbara Striesand, or however you spell it, she played a really good role. I'd recommend watching it, especially if you've seen "Meet the Parents."

Honeymoon: Booked

Well I booked the honeymoon this weekend. Above is a picture of the hotel. I can't say where it is, because it's supposed to be a surprise. I think it'll do the trick nicely though..all inclusive with a swim up bar! Woohoo! Also, check out some pics I just posted on the other blog.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. I sent my Mom flowers as I do every year. I did not make the trek to Green Bay though. Today I hopped on the Trek and went for quite a long bike ride. I spent a lot of time downtown and own by the lake and it was just beautiful out. I took a lot of pictures, some of which I posted on the other blog. The others will make it up there eventually. There were a ton of people executing the same plan as me today. Plenty of people down by the Lake walking, running, picnicing, etc. Great day. One of those Sundays that makes looking forward to tomorrow a very depressing thought. Have a good week...

Additional Blog

As my readers, both of them, of this blog know, I recently found out that my cholesteral was very high and, being engaged to a nurse, I have been "encouraged" to start exercising a lot more. Well I'm not a big runner, so Kirsten and I have started walking alot. Today we were out walking aroung the East Side when we came up with the idea to bring a camera along on our walks and start taking some pictures around the area since everyone knows, and those who don't will, that Milwaukee is the place to be. The new blog is called "Walking Pictures of Milwaukee" and I think it will be fun and interesting. Enjoy!

And on the Seventh Day...

Time for me to rest. The last 4 nights have taken it's toll on this 28-year old body. I've been boozing a little too hard. Very fun nights but I think I am starting to pay the price. Yesterday I went to see the Brewers win their 3rd straight and then after the game, I took a well received nap.

So I'm thinking about starting on the "South Beach Diet" to drop a couple pounds and hopefully lower my cholesteral. I picked up the paperback the other day so I've been flipping through that a little. I think I am just going to use it as more of a guide than a full-fledged diet. And I assure you it has nothing to do with the inability to have a drop of alcohol for the first two weeks of the diet. I'll keep you posted on how successful it is. Brewers go for the sweep today against the Reds..Go Brew Crew!
