You Gotta Love Technology...
Last Wednesday night I filed my taxes online. This was the first time I did them myself (thank you, thank you). Anyway, today, much to my surprise, my state refund was direct-deposited into my bank account! How nice is that? Usually if I remember right, when I sent in my taxes it would take a couple months to get anything back. While this is nice, I'm sure the balance of my refund is spoken for by the wedding account. Booooo.
Speaking of, I am supposed to be planning the honeymoon so if anyone has any suggestions or nice places to share, leave a comment!

Way to go! I have a couple magazines that show the comparisons of different honeymoon places so I'll scan them and send 'em your way if you'd like. (shows if you're this type of a person who likes these activities, you'll like this place) type of articles.
We did an unbeachy honeymoon, so that might not be your thing. We got married on November 1, 2003 (almost exactly 2 years before your big day, right?) and we went to Portugal. Spent the first 5 days in Madeira (island 500 miles SW of Portugal, but under Portuguese rule, sort of) and the next 5 days in Lisbon. It was great. Madeira is a beautiful island, rising straight up out of the ocean (no beaches, although there is another island nearby which is all beach), and it was extremely temperate in November. We would have spent more time there if we were to do it again. But Portugal in general is extremely reasonably priced, one of the last bargains left in Europe, and going fast.
Congrats on your fast tax refund, I'm sure your wedding account will thank you.
Sis: If you have a magazine I would like to take a look at it. You don't have to send it or anything. I'll check it out the next time I'm in town. Hopefully in a couple weeks.
Christine: Thanks! It sounds like your honeymoon was a lot of fun. I think I am going to look into that place a little. Your big day was almost exactly 2 years to the day. Our wedding is on Oct. 29. Coming up quick!
o.k. so we are the dorks who love Disneyworld...so not peoples cup of tea for a honeymoon but it is my favorite place on earth. It is surprisingly romantic if you book one of Their beautiful resort type hotels.I am sure I won't sway you if you are thinking of places like Portual but it was perfect for us:)I am jealous! We got married 5 years ago and I miss all of the maddness and chaos so much!
Cool. Costa Rica sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I'll have to look into that. I'm not so sure about Disneyworld though. Something about those 6-foot tall mascots walking around scares me. :)
I'm not married, but have a handful of friends that are. A few favorite honeymoon spots were Aruba and Playa del Carmen Mexico. Aruba is like a smaller Las Vegas on a beautiful ocean and beach. Lots of casinos if that is your thing. Playa is probably the opposite. All inclusive resort with lots of time for relaxing and romancing. Both got rave reviews.
