pugfest

A couple weeks ago we took Olive down to Pugfest in Franklin, WI. It was the second year that we attended the event. Okay, so I'm using the term "event" pretty freely there. It is quite the spectacle though with what seems like hundreds of pugs running around in this huge sports complex. Olive was definitely in her element and, I'm proud to say, very well behaved unlike some of the others. I guess all the times we locked her up in a closet when she gets excited is finally paying off. Kidding, PETA. Just kidding.

Anyway, I think she had a good time and we actually did too. We ran into my former neighbor Jennifer with her pug, Rocky, which was great. We hadn't seen either of them in a pretty long time. It was funny how Olive totally recognized Rocky, even in her pink feather boa. Olive had her standard "costume" on, the flower pinned to her harness. Simple, yet classy. There were, however, some owners that went all out like the "fisherpug" and the "bumblepug."

All in all it was a fun time and the money goes to a good cause that works to rescue pugs. Even though we were only there about an hour and a half, Olive slept the whole way home. I'm sure we'll be there for Pugfest 2009.

This might be the dorkiest thing you've posted about in a long time, Derek.
