Currently Reading...

I just started reading "Sahara" by Clive Cussler. This is the first book of his that I am reading. According to Kirsten, guys like his work (action, adventure type ). We'll see. I'm looking forward to it since the last three books I read were all written by the same author, Robert Ludlum (the Jason Bourne books). They were great but I'm ready for something new.

And with the first pick....

The Bucks took Utah C Andrew Bogut with the first pick in the NBA Draft last night. I'm pretty excited about the pick. Though he's a big whitey, he's got some moves and a bunch of International experience (outscored Tim Duncan when they played each other in the Olympics). Hopefuly it will turn out more like when the took a center #1 overall in 1969 when they took Lew Alcindor and not like when the took a center #1 overall in 1977 when they took Kent Benson. Who? Exactly.

In the second round, they picked up a Forward, Ersan Ilyasova, from Turkey. Pretty good, very young player, who COULD turn out to be a steal. Word has it, the Bucks were trying to trade up to get him but the trades fell through and they ended up getting him anyway so they must be pretty high on him for some reason. We'll see. As long as they get Michael Redd resigned, I'll be happy.

Go Bucks!

Back

Back from the funeral. What a long day. Always fun driving 8 hours in a day. Know what's even more fun? Wearing a black suit when it's 90+ degrees outside. Good lord. At least it's Friday now. One day of work and then the weekend...not a whole lot planned. Tomorrow I'm having a couple friends over to cookout. Kirsten's sister Erika is also visiting. Hopefully the weather will be nice but will drop into something more reasonable like 80 degrees. Have a good weekend all!

Sad Day for the Nelson Family

Sad day indeed...Kirsten's Grandma Nelson passed away this morning after a long, happy life. Not unexpected, but sad nonetheless.

Show me...paint the fence

Well it's finally time. After two years of living in my condo, the time has come to do some painting and make the boring white walls go away. It's amazing how time flies. I remember moving in and thinking, "I'll get settled in, buy some new furniture (I gave all my old stuff away) and eventually paint to bring it all together." Well the first two happened fairly quickly, but the painting somehow got lost in the shuffle. Oh well, the place has been good to me so far. However, now that a female will be moving in in the not-so-distant future, the blank, or as I like to call them, "use your imagination" walls aren't going to cut it. Wish me luck!

The Nelson Family

This past weekend Kirsten and I went up to Merrill for her brother Robert's wedding. A very nice weekend filled with sun. Perhaps a little too warm to be walking around in a suit, but I suppose it's better than rain! (Click on the picture to go to Flikr to see notes on each person)

One Crazy Summer

Or was it Better Off Dead...anyway as the first Summer of having a blog is underway, I am realizing how tough it is to keep up to date on it. Earlier in the year, I would check mine all the time for comments and go to every one else's blog multiplie times a day, and things like that. Now it seems a week goes by every time I check back. I suppose that's what happens in a Summer full of wedding planning...sorry for the lack of posts. I'm doing my best!

Bruises Galore

Whew, what a weekend. This past weekend was my friend John's bachelor party and it was a long, fun one. Things started off with golf at 9:00 AM Friday morning at TimberStone Golf Course in the U.P. of Michigan. The course was beautiful. It was my first time out, and it showed by shooting a 107. Very fun time though and many beers were had. From there, we went down to the Crivitz area to Thornton's Resort where we spent the rest of the weekend. Friday afternoon we went paintballing. First time trying that. It was pretty fun and I have the many bruises to show it. Saturday we played some more golf at a course near the campground. I got back on track a little shooting a 87. At one point I had par on 5 out of 6 holes which is a rareity for me. Saturday night we hit a couple bars in the area and of course had a camp fire (did Friday night as well). Up drinking until the wee hours of the morning Sunday morning before heading back to Green Bay and ultimately, Milwaukee. Great, loooong weekend and I am still recovering.
